Heaven’s Indian Curry – Ghim Moh

When I ask people about Indian breakfast, they always tell me to try Heaven’s at Ghim Moh Hawker Centre.  You need to try their Thosai, or Appam or the Putu Mayam.  So I had to go try!

So for Indian breakfast, one loves to have Appam.  This is basically a rice flour and milk mixture which is left to ferment overnight and the cooked on a mini-Indian style wok to create a crepe-like item.

Then you add your ingredients inside.  Me, I went with what they call the Princess Appam, which is egg, butter and cheese. You then take the sugar and coconut and spread it on the Appam as you eat it.

I have to say that this was absolutely awesome.  Sweet, but savory, the taste was just melt in your own mouth just a wow.  The only drawback I found was that the cheese was a slice of processed american cheese, not some other cheese.  Disappointed to say the least.  But I would be back for more, a lot more, but without the cheese.

Next I decided to go for Thosai.  Just a simple egg and butter one.  A lot of people go for the Masala Thosai, which is masala potatoes in the thosai wrap.  Not really for me.

Unfortunately the Putu Mayam was sold out at 12:00noon, so we didn’t get to try it.

Heaven’s is worthy of a trip.  You must try the Appam, and have more than one.
