I saw the sign. I couldn’t turn my head away from it. I knew immediately that I had to try it – Donkey Burgers.
At the River Mall near the Art Museum, I saw 掌櫃的店, a place that serves Donkey Burgers. I thought it was just what they called it. But I was told that it actually was Donkey. I had to do it.
Looks innocent enough, like any other restaurant. In fact a lot of the menu is pretty much run of the mill. But this was awesome. Organic Cauliflower with Chili. Awesome. And then Wildflower and Vegetable Fritters. Also awesome. In fact, the veggies looked more appealing than any of the meat that they had. Here are Shui Jian Bao. Not exactly Sheng Jian Bao. There are a bit of meat in the middle. Only ok.Now here’s what I came for. Some bread that forms the bun of the Donkey Burger. Some Chili Peppers and then some Onions. And of course, the Donkey Meat. You put it all in and then you see what you get. As I expected it was a little tough. I don’t think I would eat it again, but I had to try!
