Gyu Maru has many branches in Japan, but only one outside of it and it happens to be in Ho Chi Minh City. Located in the Japanese enclave at District 1, it is a small shop that is unassuming on the outside, but serves a mean hamburg steak.

I ordered the Hamburg Steak with Croquettes and the steak was tender, juicy and soft. The croquettes were well fried, not too oily with nice mash inside.

Starting with a Spinach Salad, it is Japanese comfort food at its best.
