Nirai-Kinai is a place specializing in Okinawan cuisine. It used to be located at Liang Court before it moved to Great World when Liang Court was demolished.
I had been here one time, more than 14 years ago, and this was my first visit back. I can’t remember at all what the previous visit was like.
This time we went with an Okinawan Pancake – with Leek and Red Ginger, topped with Bonito Flakes and Seaweed. It is a very light pancake with definite tastes of Japanese cuisine.
An Okinawan Rice Ball, which is light and balanced in flavors and textures.
Simmered Pork Belly with Handmade Noodles was also a nice bowl of noodles.
Bitter Gourd fried with Eggs was fresh and light.
For set menus, even though it is not uniquely Okinawan, older folks still love the Salmon and Mackeral. It comes with some nice Cold Tofu.
