Tapas 24 at Robertson Quay was the site of a birthday dinner. We figured, small plates, that would be great!
But in actuality, there wasn’t much Tapas, but more bigger main dishes.
We started with a Sangria and a small Tapas Starter Platter that came with Padron Peppers, Russian Salad, Croquetas de Jamon, Idiazabal Cheese with Sachicon and Pan con Tomate with Jamon Iberico.
We loved the Croqueta, Cheese and Sachicon, Peppers and the Tomato Toastie. The Croqueta was definitely the best, as it oozed the cheese and was crispy on the outside.
We didn’t care for the Russian Salad at all. The consistency was not for us.
Next up were appetizers of Fried Baby Squid and the Bikini Sandwich.
The Baby Squid was fresh and crispy – great flavor and taste. We all loved this.
The Bikini Sandwich was Jamon, Black Truffle and Mozzarella. My son loves a grilled cheese and this was right up his alley – a little more expensive than your typical Grilled Ham and Cheese, but it was good.
The mains of Clams with Sherry and Octopus with White Bean Puree were mixed. The Clams were big and fresh, but the Octopus was a bit overdone to me.
Then we ended with a Seafood Paella. This was the worst dish of the night for us. The rice was too hard and the seafood overdone. We did not enjoy this at all.
