Sometimes the craving for home hits you, and this time it was in Ho Chi Minh City. So I found Eddie’s Diner.
Eddie’s prides itself on making their own items to bring you the American taste. From US Beef to homemade Pastrami and Corned Beef, it gives you that feeling.
I ordered their Rueben (Corned Beef as it should be, though they have a Pastrami option), but went for a Half Sized.
It was as authentic as you can get. The Corned Beef was thin and smelled and tasted just like what I am used to. The Rye was spot on toasted and grilled to perfection with the Swiss, Sauerkraut and Dressing to go along with it. For me, I would add some more Dressing as I like it wetter.
That left me room for a Burger. Yes, it’s a Brioche Bun instead of a regular bun, but the taste was still right there. A great burger – though I only managed to eat half.
The Onion Rings and Fries were pretty good too.
The place is great, and the owner Brad was a great host. I’ll be back!
