Girl & The Goat – Chicago

I am a big fan of good reality cooking competitions. Like Masterchef Australia, the old Iron Chef and Top Chef.

Girl & The Goat was opened by Top Chef winner Stephanie Izard, so when in Chicago, I had to go with some colleagues.

Started out with Naan & Dips. The Naan was more crispy than I like and the Carrot Tahini Dip and Tzatziki didn’t quite go also. Should have went for the Brioche. We got Grilled Corn with a spiced coconut caramel and cotija and tajin. This was excellent! Fresh and full of taste.

The Chili Crabby Noodles were served cold, but the flavors were good! Strawberries and Asparagus are an interesting combo with the chili sauce. The soft shell crab was done right and not oily at all.

The Confit Goat Belly was so tender and nicely complemented by the curry.

For dessert it was Yuzu Coconut Milk Cake. So refreshing and good.

Definitely a good meal for sure! The only drawback is that they pack people in so tight, you feel like your private dinner is a community dinner.
