Hawkers Asian Street Food is actually a chain in the Southeast. The one in Nashville has some interesting decorations for sure.
On a rainy and cold night, I wanted something soupy, so Curry Laksa Ramen was it for me. There certainly was nothing Laksa about this, either Katong or Assam or Sarawak. it was more like Curry Mee to me. The curry flavor was there, but it was a bit strange. But on a cold night, it was good.
The Xiao Long Bao was disappointing. Not enough soup for me and skin a bit thick. Seems store bought and not homemade.
The Char Siew Bao Bun was not bad, but preferred to have it pieces of char siew instead of finely chopped and then sauced.
I tried the CKT, which I suppose is Char Kway Teow. Our waiter had no idea what Char Kway Teow was though. It was more along the lines of Penang CKT, but without the much needed spice.
Lu Rou Fan was interesting, the meat was a little bigger than expected, but still a decent taste.
I would go for the Ramen again, for sure. The others, will keep trying. It’s not bad.
