Tonghua Night Market – Taipei

Tonghua Night Market (LinJiang Street) is lesser known than some of the others in Taipei, but it has some good stuff.

First off, I tried the Guabao. Shijia Baobao (石家割包) is one of the staples here. They actually have a storefront to put together the Guabao.

Braised Pork slices with pickled veggies and other items. It’s called the Taiwanese Hamburger.

The taste is nice and not too oily.

Roast Duck Rolls were tender and fresh

Next up were Michelin Bib Gourmand Tangyuan – Rice Dumplings.

Yu Pin Yuan Fire & Ice Tangyuan (御品元冰火湯圓) serves up Tangyuan with Sesame and Peanut fillings and serves them on ice.

Great Tangyuan and this coming from someone who really doesn’t like them.

But the best part was that after you finish the Tangyuan, you take your bowl of ice and head back to the counter and ladle extra Osmanthus Syrup on the ice and then scoop up the taste.

Wow! Just awesome and cooling on a hot humid night.

Next up is Liang Chi Lu Wei (梁記滷味). It does braised foods, 滷味, and has a huge selection that it’s tough to choose from. It is also Michelin rated.

Our final stop was for Michelin rated Stinky Tofu.

Yakou Stinky Tofu (雅口麻辣豆腐專賣, formerly called “Heavenly Scent Tofu (天香豆腐) offers the best in the market.

It really is polarizing and this is a really good one, and I love it.
