After our Nasi Gudeg, we started our walk up Malioboro Street. We stopped and bought a real cute baby batik dress for Keira for 5,000 Rupiah, which was quite cute. Then we took one of those Ojeks, the bicycle taxis because it was raining so heavily!
A little bit of a tight fit…
We walked Malioboro looking for Batik for a little while and then couldn’t decide on where to eat dinner. So we remembered that our friend Kabul, who travels to Jogjakarta often for business, recommended a place called Gadjah Wong. He said it was good for local Indonesian food.
Good enough for us, so we hopped on a taxi and went there.
The menu was a little varied, a few dishes of a lot of different cuisines.

We settled on our choices and went with Avocado and Soursop Juices to start off.
Our first dish was Grilled Duck with Nasi Kuning. Quite a nice dish, the duck was well seasoned, good to eat. And the accompaniments were excellent.
Seafood Nasi Goreng in a crepe. Very nice.
Too much food, so took the rest home. Quite a cute ta bao box.
Quite a nice ambience, they had a “live” band (most of them sms or on their phones doing something most of the time instead of playing) and good decorations. Good recommendation Kabul!
