Another of the haunts on Tanjong Katong, by the Punggol Nasi Lemak. Sometimes I think the price is too expensive, the wait is too long, but you know what? The food is pretty good. So sometimes, it’s worth the wait.
The inside is pretty plain and simple, space to cook and order.
The lunch special they run is a smaller piece of cod or haddock, a side of mushy peas or gravy and a canned drink and a smaller amount of chips for $12. It’s just the right size to fill your stomach for lunch.
Went for the Cod, and the batter is nice, the fish fresh and hot. The chips also nice and hot, and I soak it in malt vinegar and ketchup. And I love to put tartar and chili on my fish. But I still don’t really understand how the British find mushy peas a wonderful dish though. I guess if you’re a baby it’s ok.
I keep coming back here, just because it’s a change of pace and not so bad at all.
