Bumbu – Telok Ayer St.

Our friend Kabul was in town and we wanted to try a different place that served Halal food in Singapore.  This place came up upon recommendations, so we decided to try it.  Located at Telok Ayer Street, right across from the Chinese Temple and about 3 minutes from the future Telok Ayer Downtown Line MRT station. This is a branch of the one on Kandahar Street.

Bumbu is known for its Halal food, but with several different specialties.  They offer Indonesian, Thai and Chinese Halal food.  So it makes for an interesting menu.

We started off with a Mango Salad, Thai style.  Quite nice and refreshing.  Not too spicy and the mango was fresh.

We went for the classic Indonesian Beef Rendang.  This was nice and melt in your mouth beef with a very nice sauce that complemented the whole dish.  Very nice.

No for some Chinese/Pernanakan, and Tahu Telor, Tofu with some Fried eggs.  So nice, the sauce was a little sweet, but the tofu and egg were fried nicely.

And then classic Chinese, Chicken with Cashew Nuts.  This one was a little too much soy sauce for me, but still quite nice.
