I have always been curious about Mario Batali’s food. Everyone says that it’s amazing. I haven’t tried it yet. Until now. At ŌTTŌ in Las Vegas, they concentrate on the food and the wine.
I’m not a wine guy, but my boss is, and man, does he know his wine. I’ll leave that to others to post about wine, me, it’s all about Mario’s food.
Located in the Palazzo, it’s quite a nice looking place with lots of little rooms and tables.
The menu is pretty simple, it’s quite good. Hard to choose!
Starters for the table included the olives. I heard they were good, I don’t eat olives…
Arancini. So nicely done, better than Giada’s.
A Salumi plate. Coppa and Testa. So nicely homemade and done, the meat was nice and tender and a great taste with some bread.
Mario Batali is known for great pizza in his places as well. Here is Sausage and Peppers Pizza. The crust is not bad, good enough to pass in my book.
For my main I went with the special for the night. It is Rigatoni with a sauce made from Braised Escarole, Pork Shoulder and Peppers. Wow. Was this spectacular!
Dessert. A Citrus Tiramisu. No coffee involved, but this is sooooo good!
The homemade gelato is not bad either! One night at Giada’s and one night a Mario’s. I love you Giada, but the food at Mario’s is 10X better.
