Sometimes expectations can get way too high when you hear about a restaurant or a stall in Singapore. So I always have to temper them when I eat at a place that has been featured many times on tv or social media. I will say this right now, 545 Whampoa Prawn Noodles, you live up to all the hype!

With only two in queue ahead of me at 930am, I got to the counter pretty quickly and ordered the $5 portion, dry, Bee Hoon/Yellow Noodle mix and with Chili and Ketchup (yes, they ask you if you want ketchup also).

What I got was so unbelievably delicious. Each bite was full of such great taste, not too much chili, not too much salt, and full of Prawn Noodle flavor. I really don’t know how much more to describe it except to say that I was sad when the bowl was finished – because I wanted more.

It is worthy of all the hype, writeups, reviews and accolades. I can’t wait to go back and eat this again.
