We always see this place. It’s right below where Lena’s cousin lives, and we always said we’ll try it. It’s on the same stretch as all the eateries on Joo Chiat now. Being a Monday night, and with Sin Heng not open on Mondays, we came here for a late night meal.
Apparently the place is known also for Fish Head Curry and Steamed Fish, but we wanted Bak Kut Teh and Kidney Mee Sua. They have both the regular and Claypot one, though I think the Claypot is just a few added vegetables. We went with normal.
The Bak Kut Teh was quite nice, peppery in flavor, and for a $6 portion, you got about 6-7 ribs. Meaty and not bad at all.
Lena went for her favorite, Kidney Mee Sua. She said it also was quite nice, this a $6 portion also.
Not a bad alternative, though Sin Heng down the road is much better.
