My parents’ favorite restaurant is located on 37th Avenue in downtown Flushing, right off of Main Street. It’s a small restaurant, but it serves great food, big portions and the staff are great – especially when you go with my parents, as they are like celebrities there, as everyone knows them.
The menu is expansive and great, and they’ve made an appearance before on JayMoyLovesfood.com. This time, we went to satisfy Lena’s craving for lobster and for a birthday treat from my parents to Lena.
The dishes we ordered were basically the same as out last visit, as we have cravings to satisfy!
Here is the Braised Fish with Tofu in Claypot. I truly love the silkiness of the tofu here, and the delicate flavor of the fish and how soft it is. It is truly a delicious dish.
Peking Style Pork Chops. I love how tender the pork chops get and the sauce, while a little sweet, makes it nice and complementary. A real nice dish.
Spinach with Three Styles of Eggs. The Century Egg, Salted Egg and regular Egg. A nice combination.
Lena’s lobster. This one is not just stir fried in the wok, but there are pieces of minced pork and black beans to make it even more fragrant and delicious.
This time we added some Roast Chicken with Garlic sauce. The chicken is nice and tender and the sauce makes it so nice.
For dessert they gave us complementary Malay-Style sponge cakes. So soft and flavorful. Nice and light for after dinner.
And here is Sweet Peanut Soup with Sago. For a guy that does not like the sweet Cantonese dessert soups, I liked this one. It was not too sweet, and the peanut was quite nice.
My parents don’t choose a place as their favorite for no apparent reason. And you can see why. The food is outstanding and the service great. The price is also pretty good. If you’re in downtown Flushing and want a place to eat, check this one out.
