When you talk about Old Airport Road, someone will always mention Xin Mei Xiang Lor Mee and its long queue. People will always say this is the best that there is. That is certainly debateable.
This stall is right in front, and you can always find it because if it’s open, there is a queue.
They manage the queue quite efficiently. Someone comes out, asks what you want, and by the time you get up there, you just confirm it with the person who serves you and collects the money and you get your food and you go.
A normal bowl is S$4 and a big bowl is S$5. And this is what you get for the big bowl.
For me, the gravy is quite nice. But I find that there is too much fish in it, not enough pork. As you eat it, it still tastes nice, but there’s not that pork feel to it.
I like this Lor Mee, but for me, it’s not worth the queue. I would rather head to Xiang Ji or Tiong Bahru in the same hawker centre and get my Lor Mee from there.
