New York City has an abundance of good food, so it’s not easy to choose a favorite. But my Nephew and Niece have – Kung Fu Xiao Long Bao in Flushing, Queens. It’s not right in downtown Flushing, up towards Booth Memorial Hospital, but they say the Xiao Long Bao here are great. Let’s see if TC and Kimberly are correct!
OK, let’s get to it. Soup and Noodles first. Here is the Shanghai staple that I love, and I love to get when I go to Shanghai. Pickled Vegetables and Pork slices with Noodles. This one is fresh and nice.
More of a Taiwanese thing, but Hot and Sour Soup, I love it. And this version is awesome.
Shanghai Noodles. My nievce Kimberly loves these. Me, not so much, but to each their own. I find it a little greasy..
Crispy Noodles with Seafood Sauce. A little different than Cantonese style but still pretty good.
Scallion Pancake. My nephew TC loves these. These are pretty crispy, I usually like mine a little more fluffy.
Pan Fried Dumplings. My mom loves these. They are pretty good, the skin is not too thick.
And here you go, the Xiao Long Bao! Juicy, for sure, and the skin is nice and thin.
And my personal favorite, the Sheng Jian Bao. These were nice to me, but TC and Kimberly tried them for the first time and were not impressed. Oh well.
The Xiao Long Bao were good. And the price is good. I will be back!
