原宿餃子楼 (Gyoza Lou) – Harajuku, Tokyo

I love me some Gyoza.  So I had to try 原宿餃子楼, or Gyoza Lou, in Harajuku.  It’s pretty no frills, and the menu is limited, but it’s supposed to be awesome.

It’s a small shop, tucked away in an alley behind the main drag, near Kiddy Land.

Inside there are two stations, one for steamed dumplings and one for fried.  He’s working the fried station now.

Frying and steaming away the Gyoza.

I started with a little Cucumber.  You need it to cut the meat and vinegar from the Gyoza.  Trust me on this, your mouth will feel better when you eat this before and after your Gyoza.

Some original Boiled Dumplings.  Real nice flavor, the skin is not too thick. Meat is plentiful.

The the star.  There are two choices of dumplings, one is original, just meat, the other is Garlic/Chives inside.  I went with both.

Nicely steamed and crispy.  Juicy inside.  Just amazing.
