After a week in Germany, and a week going forward in the UK and Ireland, my work colleague and I decided that we needed a change of pace. So in downtown Prestwick, where we were staying, it’s about 30 minutes south of Glasgow, we decided on Indian food at the Taj Tandoori.
North Indian cuisine. I started with a Mango Lassi. This had to have been the biggest Mango Lassi I have ever seen.
We went for the combo dinner for 2. In the end, we realized this would have fed 6.
Here is the Mixed Pakora platter. There are all sorts of things in here from vegetables to seafood.
The kebab also came with it. A little dry…
Naan and Briyani. Oh yeah! But the Naan wasn’t as fluffy as I like though, or that I am used to.
Chicken Nawabi Pasanda. The description sound exactly like Chicken Tikka Masala. It was close. But the chunks of chicken were huge! And as a result, a little dry.
Lamb Rogan Josh. Certainly not like I am used to. The vegetables are more chunky instead of a fine stew. Taste was mild for me.
Aloo Ghobi. Again, not what I was expecting. I was expecting a paler yellow curry. More mild than anything.
I understand that it’s done to local tastes. But, it’s not bad. Just wish it was a little more authentic though.
