Sri Gangga Cafe – Jimbaran Beach, Bali

When you’re in Bali, you need to have dinner on the beach.  Fresh grilled seafood, the open air, the stars.  It is a great feeling.  We went to Sri Gangga Cafe based on our driver’s recommendation.  And while the structure itself is ok, the beach and the surroundings are beautiful.

They have tanks of live swimming seafood, and then a display where there is fresh caught seafood.  You get up and go to the seafood and select what you want with the staff.  The live seafood is of course more expensive and they try to steer you towards that when you go up, but in reality, the fresh caught is just as good.

We decided to go for a mix.  We went with King Prawns, marinated in garlic butter and grilled. So tender and soft, but just a tad overdone.  A little less cooked and they would have been perfect.

Next up was Fresh Squid.  They recommended Fried Calamari style, we decided on Grilled with Salt and Pepper and Butter.

Tender and soft also.  Fresh for sure and very tasty.

We wanted a fish, so we took a Red Snapper, grilled with lemon, butter, garlic and salt and pepper.  This was a highlight for sure.  The meat was tender and sweet, done just nicely.

Our first dinner on the beach in Bali.IMG_8043Awesome, awesome meal.  I don’t think you can go wrong with most of the places, this one certainly was good.
