New town, my colleague and I have never been here in Oulu, Finland. An hour flight north of Helsinki, an eight hour car ride apparently. So after our meeting, where to eat? We got a taxi and he told us that this place was pretty good. So we went in and had lunch at Oskarin Kellari in downtown Oulu.
It’s a small town, quite nice and lovely, and the place was upstairs and quite simple, but looked good.
The menu was quite small, as it seemed like most people took the buffet. But I couldn’t resist the Salmon. And the sauce was a Chili Bernaise, so that was interesting as well.
The Salmon was cooked to perfection! Just done, tender and moist. The skin crispy and well seasoned. The sauce made it a nice change of pace as well.
What a nice find in Oulu!
