There has been a lot of hype about Violet Herbs in Tanjong Pagar. The Modern European cuisine it features has been known to be some of the best. It was worth a try to see what people were talking about.
The interior is nice and clean and just a beauty to look at.
We were started off with some Charcoal Bread and an amuse bouche of Salmon Gravlax. The bread was fresh and warm. Freshly baked, just a nice way to start it out.
The salmon was nicely smoked and a good way to start the meal.
Our appetizer was a Mango Scallop. Seared Scallops with Mango Salsa and Mango Gel on top of Parsnip Puree with a Sesame Tuile. The Scallop was cooked perfectly and the mango tastes weren’t too sweet, balanced our nicely.
A palate cleanser of Green Apple Sorbet with Orange Slices. Cool and refreshing, for sure!
Lamb Rack on a bed of Spinach and Cous Cous with a Pistachio Foie Gras Roulade and Rosemary Lamb Jus. The lamb cooked perfectly, the jus gave it a nice pleasant zing. Just a well rounded dish.
Roasted Chilean Sea Bass on a bed of Mushroom Bacon Ragout and a Yuzu Truffle Butter. The Bass was so tender and well cooked, the Truffle Butter was not too strong in taste and the Mushroom Bacon Ragout was not too oily either. A great balanced dish.
Dessert was a Frozen Nougat with fruits and a Lychee Sorbet. A nice way to end the meal. There are many options here, and the service was great without being overbearing. Each dish was described by the servers in detail and a great place to have a quiet meal, especially with a loved one.
