Wo Hop – Chinatown, NYC

Food brings us together to celebrate, whether it’s in sadness or happiness. A good meal with family is worth more than anything in the world. We celebrate the life of my 婆婆 with family and food – just the way she would have wanted.

We spent two days celebrating her with 2 meals at a Chinatown institution – Wo Hop. The food is great as always. Day 1 featured Buddha’s Delight, Veggie Spring Rolls, Fish Maw and Crab Soup, Chicken, Lobster, Shrimp with Honey Walnuts, Beef with Asparagus and Steamed Flounder. Day 2 was pretty identical. Roast Pork, Buddha’s Delight, Fish Maw and Crab Soup, Shrimp with Honey Walnuts, Veggie Fried Rice, Fried Tofu with Conch, Chicken, Eggplant with Black Bean Sauce and Fried Fish with Bok Choy.

My family is a big one and I love each and every one of them.

公公 and 白白, I am sure it’s great to see 婆婆 again. I will see all of you again someday.
