El Fuego – Jewel Changi

I find Collins quite a nice affordable option when I want simple meat, veg and carbo. So I was interested when I went with my friend to El Fuego.

It’s certified Halal, thus my Halal friend chose it. And it has a more upscale menu than Collins.

We started with the Octopus Carpaccio and the Scallop Aburi.

The Carpaccio was overpowered by all the fennel and salsa so you couldn’t quite taste the Octopus.

The Scallop was a little nicer and stood out nicely with the buttery soy sauce on it.

Our mains were Toothfish and Snapper.

The Toothfish, better known as Chilean Sea Bass, was tender but lacking of flavor and seasoning without the accompaniments.

The Snapper was better, but still lacking seasoning.

It’s a higher menu than Collins, the ingredients better, but not put together as well.
