Tanjong Rhu Wanton Noodle in a small coffee shop on Old Airport Road is probably one of my most favorite Wanton Noodles in Singapore.
Growing up in a Hong Kong family, I thought I knew what Wanton Noodles were – soup based with large Prawn Wantons and Egg Noodles.
So when I first came to Singapore, I saw its version of Wanton Noodles and said, “That’s not Wanton Noodles!” and I did not like it.
But slowly, I started to like it more and more. Now, I love the Singapore version just as much!
At Tanjong Rhu, the noodles are biting, Wantons large enough to be flavorful, Char Siew not too dry. And the portion is big.
With a few Wanton Noodle options around the area, especially next door at Old Airport Road, this is the one I prefer.
