If you asked which Char Kway Teow is the most famous in Singapore, a lot of people will say this one.
Hill Street Char Kway Teow usually makes the list of best Char Kway Teow in Singapore. When Bedok South Hawker Centre was renovating for six months people missed it.
When they came back, they went to a different queuing system, self-service and must wait in queue. It used to be that you would order, sit down and the aunty would yell out for you.
Even so, the queue looks so long and intimidating at times, so the best time to order it is when someone else really needs it and they are willing to queue. As was the case today. KS needed the fix before going back to China, so he was willing to queue. Lucky us!
I decided to ta bao back to the office. Let it all soak together for the great taste.
I really do like this one, it’s a little greasy, but the taste is so great. It does truly belong on the list of best Char Kway Teow in Singapore.
