I’ve been touting all kinds of Asian food in Richmond, B.C., and for our last meal of the weekend before heading back home, we decided to try to find Singaporean/Malaysian food. We originally wanted one restaurant, but it was closed on a Sunday so we came here, the Kaya Malay Bistro.
We were a little unsure because it seemed like it was too much of a variation on the food, but we decided to give it a try.
What always catches our eyes on a menu that has Singaporean/Malaysian food? Why Laksa and Char Kway Teow of course!
Here is the Laksa. Need a little bit of a better noodle to go with it, maybe some Bee Hoon or regular Mee, but the gravy is ok. I give it a 7/10 for coming close.
The Char Kway Teow is a little more HK style than South Asian style. A little greasy. If I was grading, a 5/10.
It’s so tough to find what fits right. There are more options in Richmond, time to try more!
