This place is a happening brewpub with some great food and vibes. Lokál U Caipla is clearly one of the hottest spots in all of downtown Brno.
The place is packed every night according to our colleagues.
There are the tanks of beer in the middle. They dispense straight from them to the mugs.
A lovely menu for the day.
With a lot of us around the table, it was easy to sample a lot of different items.
Here is Cheese, with some pearl onions and pickled peppers. Local Ham with a Cream and Horseradish mixture. The mixture was light and refreshing, damn good.
Sausage with Fresh Horseradish and Mustard.
One of the specialties of the house – Beef Tartare. You take the toast, rub the garlic on it, then put on the tartare. Wow, so smooth, creamy and wonderful tasting. I put just the right amount of garlic rub on it. It doesn’t take much, but it does create a much different taste.
Czech Pork Chop with Roasted Cabbage and Sauerkraut. Yes, they like their cabbage. The pork was tender and juicy, just a good grilled piece of meat.
Their version of Svíčková. Smoother, I guess everyone makes it a little differently.
Just a steak. Tender and juicy. Beets and Potatoes on the side.
Fried Cheese. Another specialty. For the Mozzarella Stick crowd.
The place is pretty good. Great atmosphere and good food to go with it.
